Guests happily nibble away, unaware of the ruse. The goal at this stage is to spark some curiosity without blowing their cover.

As dinner is announced, the imposters greet guests with friendly nods and help them find their seats, setting the stage for the evening. The genuine waitstaff serve the starter, while the comedy waiters remain in the room, chewing gum, texting, or wandering around making odd comments.

The unusual behaviour becomes more apparent as the night goes on. The comedy waiters engage guests in hilarious antics, from searching for a "missing" contact lens to stacking plates in bizarre ways. The maintenance man makes his entrance with a torch and stepladders, and the gags become more obvious.

Throughout the main course, guests are treated to non-stop humour, props, impromptu head massages, fashion tips, DIY advice, and more. The drunken waiter attempts cartooning, the maintenance man performs rubbish magic tricks, and another waiter, with the backing of his fellow staff, serenades diners with acoustic guitar, trombones, shakers, and tambourines.
