Entertainment for all occasions

Animatronic Polar Bears

Our Animatronic is a huge hit (literally – polar bears are the world’s largest land predators) with audiences worldwide. He has appeared at environmental events, Christmas events, winter-theme events; snow and ice parties and film premieres… He’s even been known to provide wedding entertainment! If you’re looking for Christmas entertainment, you’ve found something very special. If you are planning a party, would it be complete without a ‘real live’ animatronic Polar Bear?

Together with his Arctic conservationist companion, our act is the centrepiece of an interactive performance which is a cross between a petting zoo and a nature documentary. During the show the audience will find out about how polar bears survive in the Arctic and get the opportunity to interact with him; he’s very friendly and doesn’t object to being patted, stroked and tickled behind the ears. The show is an informal, magical and overall interactive experience, ideal for mixed family audiences of between 100-200 people at each sitting. he sometimes appears at parties, as a part of a choreographed show or at special events: please contact us if you are interested in booking him for your special event.

The Animatronic Polar Bear can perform in any public space with sufficient floor-space, a power supply and access to appropriate changing. In the past, the act has performed in theatres, in shopping centres, in museums and science centres, in television studios, on red carpets, in Christmas markets and once on top of a 50 metre geodesic dome. Ironically, they cannot perform on ice. In order to keep our bear and his set looking pristine for everyone to enjoy, we only take bookings for indoor venues during the winter season.

The show is an improvised, immersive experience during which our Polar Bear reacts spontaneously to the audience, so it’s important that we’re able to interact directly with them. We therefore only perform our show at floor level.

We do not offer a photo shoot as standard as we prefer the spontaneity of live interaction. However, we have taken part in choreographed photo shoots. If you are interested in choreographing a photo shoot we recommend that it is ticketed with no more than 25 family tickets per session and you provide at least three members of staff to manage the audience.

  • The Polar Bear performs in an oval area approx. 5m in diameter defined at the back by our semi-circular inflatable iceberg and on the ground by a large round white tarpaulin. The size can be reduced if necessary by folding tarpaulin or removing sections of the inflatable.
  • The fan that inflates our iceberg requires a 13 amp, 240v power supply; we can use either a domestic 3 pin source or a c-form.
  • We need a firm, level, and clear area for the performance. The Iceberg and tarpaulin will either be taped down (on hard surfaces) or pegged (on dry, firm grass to keep them in place.
  • We will require a steward to look after the inflatable and performance area in between performances in case children mistake it for a bouncy castle
  • The inflatable and tarpaulin can be rigged or de-rigged within 15 minutes. This does not include the time it takes for the performers to get in and out of costume, so if you need to remove the ice environment especially quickly, please provide a steward or two. It is preferable to leave the set in place throughout the booking.

The Polar Bear normally performs 3 x 20 minutes or 2 x 30 minutes with a minimum of 40 minutes between shows.

Just wanted to send you a note to say that Rick was just such a rock star on our stand this week at Black Hat Europe.  He is just such a super chap and totally wonderful to work with.  He just rocks up and gets on with things, we had some issues with our cabling and he sorted that out and then just keeps rolling all day.  He chats away with all the ‘customers’ and is a joy to work with.  All our team at Carbon Black, just love him.
