Musical entertainment plays a major role in any Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah, as it sets the tone for the event and helps your guests to enter into the party spirit. A great band makes a great party, and will keep everyone dancing and having a great time. Your choice of music should suit all the Mitzvah attendees, not just the youngsters, so with our help you can be sure of getting talented and professional musicians who really know how to entertain. It’s important to remember that a Bat Mitzvah or a Bar Mitzvah has a serious side too, so the choice of music should be appropriate for this crucial event in your son’s or daughter’s life.
HOW DOES A TYPICAL BAR MITZVAH OR BAT MITZVAH EVENT GO?
The majority of Mitzvah parties last from 4 to 5 hours in total, and often consist of two separate parts – a Cocktail Hour and a Main Reception, each of which requires careful planning to ensure they proceed smoothly.
The Cocktail Hour is usually the first hour of the party, and is often the time to give your guests drinks and food, accompanied by light music from a live band or from a disco plus DJ. This hour doesn’t usually contain dancing, but it is customary to supply a keepsake for each guest. We recommend that you book one or more of our keepsake entertainers such as a Caricaturist, a Balloon Artist, a Photo Booth, a Silhouette Artist or a Green Screen Photo Artist – these entertainers can remain throughout the whole event if you wish, because they can continue with their activities even when the dancing begins. A few games are also useful in the Cocktail Hour to keep the younger guests busy, so you might like to choose Arcade Games, Air Hockey or an F1 Simulator. If the party is for a mixed age group, we recommend closing down the games once the Main Reception begins, but if it’s a children-only Mitzvah, you may want to keep them open for the whole event, and simply close them down at key points in the event
The Main Reception often includes dinner and dancing, and again you can customise this part of the event in many different ways. We recommend that you engage one of our skilled MCs or DJs who, in combination with a disco or a live band, can be relied upon to make this part of the Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah enjoyable for all.
HOW MANY ACTIVITIES AND KEEPSAKE ARTIST DO I NEED?
We recommend that for mixed-age Mitzvah parties, you engage at least 1 Keepsake Artist or 1 Activity for each 50 guests if you plan to engage one of our MCs, DJs or a live band. If you don’t have a professional MC or a band, then we recommend that you put on a larger number of Keepsake Artists and Activities – parties always work better with a combination of both. If you are holding a children-only Mitzvah event, we suggest you choose 1 Keepsake Artist or 1 Activity for every 25 guests.
Whatever the scale of your Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah, and whatever the age group you plan to invite, you can rely on Chosen Events to make it a memorable celebration of this significant phase of your son’s or daughter’s life.
